Achilles Surgery Update:
I am now in Phase 2/3 of my recovery—what’s known as the remodeling phase. Following my Achilles SpeedBridge surgery (a repair of the Achilles tendon), this is the long-term stage where the tendon transitions from simply “healed” to becoming strong, functional, and capable of athletic performance again.
My recovery timeline is expected to be closer to three years, given factors like age and overall conditioning.
Today, I completed 2 × 300m at 70–80% intensity and felt good—especially considering my surgery was in September 2024. My goal is that by September 11, 2027, I’ll be able to sprint at 100% again… though I’ll also be three years older. Time will tell.
